After the huge success of Gippy's last film Carry on Jatta, Singh vs Kaur is all ready to enthral the audience with action, romance, and comedy.
Gippy Grewal will be seen flaunting a turban for the first time on screen. About his looks in the movie he said, "Wearing the turban, that depicts Punjabi culture, for the first time in my movies, is a great experience. There are no specific reasons as to why this movie comes across as only to experiment with my looks. I believe my character of Nihaal Singh who hails from a typical middle class Punjabi family, required this sturdy look. Also the toy guns and other weapons that are used in the movie justify my role which is of a body-guard."
The director of the movie, Navniat Singh, who has earlier directed Tera Mera Ki Rishta, Mel Karade Rabba, Dharti, Taur Mittran Di, says, "Punjabi films are gradually increasing their stake in the entertainment industry. Comedy movies, like Carry on Jatta among others, have greatly contributed to the genre and eventually to the industry." This flick is first of its kind as it is being produced by someone from the South Indian Film industry, which indeed is a positive sign. Producer Dr. D Ramanaidu, under the home production of Gurhateh Films and Sippy Grewal Production, believes that there is a great potential in the Punjabi Film Industry and its future is prosperous.
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh while speaking about the Punjabi film industry adds, "The work that is being done to revive and bring Punjabi cinema to the next level is commendable. Frankly, I have started watching Punjabi flicks now, which earlier was never the case. I suppose, the young generation is reciprocating well to the new movies which is being applauded all over." It must be noted that the revenues have stated growing which indeed proves that Punjabi movies are doing great business.
UK based music composer and singer Dr. Zeus, who made it to the headlines last year with his last album, The Hidden Treasures, when asked about the contemporary music scenario says, "I believe Punjabi singers have proved their mettle in Bollywood by distinct music, compositions, style and quality of singing. Every genre of Punjabi music is worth praises and I believe it is here to stay and reach heights of success."
