he Punjab team for the Pearls Golf Premier League (PGPL) was announced in Chandigarh recently. The team from Punjab, titled Wital See Punjab Lancers, is owned by Wital See Marketing Limited. The team includes four-time Asian tour winner Gaganjeet Bhullar, Asian No. 1 Thaworn Wiratchant, 2003 PGA Championships winner Shaun Micheel and top PGTI professional Rashid Khan. Several other top European, Asian and Indian stars will compete in the tournament that has a prize money of $ 400,000 which is Rs 2.2 crores (approx). The PGPL is going to be the first professional golf tournament which will be played in Asia under lights. While talking to the media during the unveiling of the Punjab team Jyoti Narain, executive director of Wital See, said, "We are thrilled to be a part of this novel tournament that will provide golf enthusiasts with a memorable experience. It will not only present a chance for Indian audience to see world-class talent in action, but will also give India's young players an opportunity to showcase their talent and get noticed."
