ursuing a profession in any chosen field for the privileged is no big deal. But, for those with limited resources it is no less than an ordeal in today's world.
The arduous journey that Vinod Bhardwaj embarked upon to realise a long-cherished dream, makes for typical Bollywood material. Vinod was not lucky enough to pursue a chosen career due to financial constraints that his family was faced with. His father, a talented sketch artist too, had to cut short his promising career in the making for the same reason.
Being the eldest son, Vinod dropped out from school and contributed towards the family finances. He supported his younger sibling, Kewal to pursue his studies and his sacrifice paid off when Kewal bagged a job. All along five years, while supporting the family, his passion to make a career in fashion designing continued to grow by the day.  He sought admission in the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), and continued to strive hard to achieve his drea, that finally landed him at the Lakme Fashion Week held at Mumbai. His father had been his lucky mascot throughout.
For Manoj Kumar, too, his batch mate at INIFD, life was no less than an ordeal. His brief stint in the Merchant Navy was disappointing, to say the least. When his service contract was not renewed, he opted out and returned home, a little distraught and shaken. But, he chose not to give in. With a commerce background, Manoj sought admission in a local college to pursue his commerce degree. But, his passion for drawing sketches and random illustrations could not hold him back there for a long time. He dropped out after the first session and made it to the INIFD, his long cherished dream.

Conceived around the theme of reincarnation, the duo showcased under the name of Antarikshveda.
Given that they belonged to different batches at the institute, Vinod and Manoj had one thing in common – their undying passion for art — pencil-sketching to be precise. Their penchant for pursuing a career in the field, heart and soul, brought them together. Both worked very hard to churn out the best of their artistic creations. Their soaring spirit to excel in the chosen domain, coupled with their sheer grit, helped them make it to their dream destination.
Speaking with Guardian20, the enterprising duo from Chandigarh credits their success to their hard work and commitment. "It is a matter of pride for us that the organisers of the Lakme Fashion Week gave due recognition to our work, making us the proud first-ever participants from the region to have showcased their collection under the 'Gen-Next' category", says Vinod. Echoing similar sentiments, Manoj said: "Besides thanking the organisers, I would like to put on record the valuable contribution made by our parents, our teachers and, of course our well wishers." Conceived and conceptualized on the theme of reincarnation, the duo showcased their collection under the brand name of Antarikshveda.
The duo is all set to storm the international platform by participating in the Hong Kong Fashion Week, to be held later this year. Besides freelancing, they have launched designer shoes and bags for the Best Style website, a popular fashion portal.
