Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa recently announced a new venture, her own production house, 'Fresh Air Movies' in Chandigarh where she was present with famous Punjabi singer Gurdas Mann, and Diljit Dosanjh. Neeru informed that her maiden venture as a producer will star both the singers. The untitled movie will be directed by Pankaj Batra who has directed Virsa and is currently working on Naughty Jatts. The untitled movie is expected to hit the screens next summer and will be a musical bonanza for the viewers.
While speaking to the media regarding the idea of turning into a producer, Neeru says, "This idea was there in my mind for the past two years which first occurred to me while I was shooting for one of my movies in Shimla. Taking this step was a tough call, but I was able to take a firm decision about it over the sets of Jatt and Juliet where I shared the idea with Diljit."
Neeru had always dreamt of doing a movie with Gurdass Mann. Elated and excited about the venture, Neeru adds, "I was really happy when Gurdassji agreed to act in my movie and work for my production house. He is one of the strongest pillars of Punjabi Cinema and it is an honour for me to be working with him."
"I am here because of the Punjabi Film Industry and it is the guiding force behind my big step as I wanted to give back to it in lieu of the fame and fortune it has endowed me with. After doing various movies, I realised that the hidden talent should be brought to the forefront. Scriptwriters, filmmakers, musicians and all talented youngsters should be promoted", said Bajwa.
Neeru intends to elevate the present situation of women in the society by creating opportunities for them which can elevate their status and help themselves. "I can't assure of being there in all the movies produced by me but I would dedicatedly do my part", said Bajwa.
Gurdass Maan said, "It is a pleasure to share screen with the new generation of actors. They are today's shining stars and it will be an honour for me to work with them and contribute my bit for the growth of our own Punjabi Film industry." Maan also informed that he and Neeru Bajwa would be working in his upcoming film, Punjabi-e-Zubane.
Singer-turned-actor Diljit Singh is all praise for Bajwa. Singh, who has already worked with Bajwa in three movies, including the super hit Jatt and Juliet about the new project says, "Neeru is the first heroine I worked with in my debut movie and we will now be doing our fourth movie which will be releasing under her dream banner."
