Nikhil Chinapa at Submerge Dance Project
He has made a distinct mark in whatever he has tried his hands in, be it architecture, acting, DJing VJing, or presenting and has successfully carved out a niche for himself in the world of music. DJing is Nikhil's Chinapa's forte and he has played at almost all major clubs and venues across the country.
Chinapa played recently at the Blue Blazer, and rustled out a heady medley of tracks at the debut Submerge Dance Project to rock the night with sizzling international beats.
Chinapa's interactive dance experience that included global beats ranging from techno to dubstep, to a bit of moombahton and a touch of trance to progressive, that kept the night abuzz with sheer excitement and entertainment.
In an interview with Guardian20, Chinapa said, "I'm playing the Submerge Dance Project in Chandigarh for the first time and I must say that it feels so amazing to be here. The youth here is pretty trendy in terms of their sartorial choices, besides being progressive, real, and possess an unbelievable sense of music. They are also quite crazy about global dance and music. I am simply overwhelmed by the kind of response that I received from the city aficionados. I really enjoyed playing here and would love come yet again to see a lot more enthusiasts dancing to my music."
"It's a DJ's job to make people enjoy and if he plays the same music which is no different than that played at home, your Ipod, mobile or your car, then the very idea of visiting a music club goes sinking. You go to a club apparently to freshen yourself through music. Times are when an old number from the golden era makes you melancholic, thus spoiling the mood. For them, music at a club must be something that rocks," he affirms.
He adds, "My preferences of music suiting a party may be touted as random. I try to play music that persuades you to storm the dance floor. I believe seeing a crowd going crazy while you play on, screaming and shouting at you and loose them to the rapturous music".
