ne of the most sought after fashion events in Chandigarh, the Seagram's Blenders Pride Fashion Tour '13 brought together the most celebrated fashion designers including Neeta Lulla, Vikram Phadnis, Wendell Rodricks, Falguni and Shane Peacock, to display their collection especially designed for this tour.
The 9th edition of Seagram's Blenders Pride Fashion Tour will be held in six different cities and will conclude on 24th November in Mumbai. In the 2-day event, the first day showcased the designs of Neeta Lulla, Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Lulla, who has designed for many actresses and has more than 10 National Awards to her credit, told Guardian20, "My collection for this tour is sensuous, flirty and exciting. I have blended the fashion of the 20s and 30s with contemporary taste. It is a path-breaking experiment that hits people's mindset about a sari. I've designed the sari with different fabrics including tassels, crepe, chiffon, and lycra that gives it a really fashionable and global appeal."
Excited about the collection, Neha Dhupia who was the show stopper for Neeta's collection, said, "Neeta's collection is always great but this is such a beautiful collection that anyone who has the taste for fashion, would love to wear it."
The concluding day witnessed fashion enthusiasts flock to see the collections of Vikram Phadnis and Wendell Rodricks, Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam were the show stoppers for Phadnis's show.
Wendell Rodricks collection stood apart from that of the other designers. "This show will be the first show of its kind where models won't walk the ramp, it is more of a dance party where they'll dance and the collection will be called Red, Haute and Blue, with various moods though neon green, peacock blue, and hot pink colours."
Rodricks didn't have a show stopper but the beautifully choreographed performance by Jesse Randhawa and Sandip Soparrkar added charm to the dance party theme of the show.
The whole tour will showcase the designs from the leading names from the fashion industry including Gaviin Miguel, JJ Valaya, Pankaj, Nidhi, Rocky S, Suneet Varma and Tarun Tahiliani besides those who exhibited their work in Chandigarh.
