There is no dearth of bars and grills in Chandigarh, but the city has been longing for a proper sports bar sometime now. An initiative of Delhi-based father-son duo — Manpreet and Rish Saini — Underdoggs, a new sports bar and grill is perhaps that much awaited jaunt. After making successful forays into Delhi and Gurgaon, this is Underdoggs's third outlet at the Elante Mall.
Spread over an area measuring 9000 sq feet, the Underdoggs houses a bar, a restaurant and gaming zones. Rish Saini, Co-CEO & director of marketing said, "With a minimum set of regulations and optimum excitement, Underdoggs is the ultimate destination for sports and entertainment. The concept of sports bars is highly successful abroad. The idea behind conceptualising this sports bar was to create a space where one could enjoy various games while sipping on their favourite ale."
The sports memorabilia is eclectic and has been put across quite scrupulously. The sporty wall graphics, shoe chandeliers, croquet sticks, football wall lamps etc add to the ambience.
With a range of gaming options available, including pool tables, table tennis, multiple sport simulators, darts corners, air hockey tables, foosball tables, shuffleboards, carom boards and multiple-board and arcade games to choose from, Underdoggs is a composite gaming destination. 50 large HD TVs and projection screens put in place at clever angles serves for uninterrupted viewing of matches. The bar offers over 15 types of beers, besides signature cocktails, mocktails, team drink pitchers etc. One can also opt for beer on taps. The menu comprises the best of American pub food, along with Indo-European and continental cuisine.
