Interiors at The Zodiac
ood aficionados have a reason to smile as the culinary industry is growing by heaps and bounds and various multi-cuisine restaurants and food-chains are opening their outlets here in Chandigarh. Accumulation of individual perplexity is evident as Chandigarh houses various multi-cuisine restaurants and other eating places that boast of the authentic gastronomic indulgence. Amidst increasing competition and pecuniary jeopardy venturing into the business is a challenge, but stylish initiatives always make a place for themselves.
The concept of revolving restaurants is definitely not new to the country but The Zodiac, roof-top revolving bar and lounge is the first of its kind. This is the highest revolving restaurant in the vicinity and has a multi-ethnic feel and ambiance.
Sunil Bansal, Managing Director of World Hotel Turquoise, who conceptualised The Zodiac tells Guardian20, "Venturing into the industry is a difficult task as the market is predominated by international brands and restaurants. We wanted to come up with something unique and royal that could stand poles apart in this tough competition. I believe this roof-top restaurant in Tricity will make a cultural and artistic statement, daring to utilize a contemporary approach in a classical city."
Spread over 1400 sp ft, this bar and lounge offers Thai, Chinese, Continental, Mexican and Indian cuisines besides a vast collection of cocktails and rare brands of alcohol. Elaborating the details of the restaurant, Ashwani Dhar, Deputy General Manager says, "The restaurant has 21 tables and can easily accommodate 60 people at one time. It completes a vibration free rotation in 40-45 minutes and is functional 6:30 pm onwards."
The USP of the restaurant according to Bansal lies, "On the 8th floor, 100 feet above ground level, on a bulb studded roof that gives the ambiance of a star cluster. An aerial view of the city and a clear view of the Shivalik Mountains makes this space worth while."
