The crystal ballroom at The Lalit, Chandigarh
tanding tall in the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, architecture of The Lalit Chandigarh has been inspired by Le Corbusier's work. Beautifully designed, the five-floored, five-star property is one of its kind in Chandigarh. Spread over 4 acres of land, the hotel is equipped with ultra modern amenities. It offers 179 rooms and suites, comprising the legacy suite, luxury suite, deluxe rooms, club room and executive suites. The operations have already begun while complete occupancy is expected by the end of the first quarter.
General manager Aashish Gawari said, "This place will change the definition of hospitality in a big way. Besides reflecting Le Corbusier's architectural genius, the staff will make sure that each visit is memorable and satisfying."
Besides rooms and suites the hotel offers marvellous conferencing facilities, grand ballrooms, seminar halls, spa, restaurants, night clubs, convention halls, swimming pools, shopping arcades, and a private theatre for special screenings. The 7600 sq feet pillar-less crystal ballroom is probably the biggest in tri-city with a capacity of 500 guests in a theatre style sitting arrangement. The Rejuve spa, spread over 11,000 sq ft boasts of as many as eight treatment rooms, each with a private bathroom, steam, gym, salon and a yoga studio.
"There are various features that make this property unique — the biggest being the minimal usage of electricity during day time which has been made possible with the help of big windows and open spaces. To reduce electricity consumption further, solar panels have been installed," adds Harshita Singh, general manager, marketing and communications.
